Responsible Person / Responsible Officer Training provides an overview of APRA’s Fit and Proper obligations for superannuation funds, Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions (ADIs), life insurance companies and general insurance companies. This course is tailored to Responsible Persons, Responsible Officers and compliance professionals and explains responsibilities of both the individual and organisation as a whole.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course, participantswill be able to:
- identify who is a Responsible Officer / Responsible Person;
- explain the purpose of APRA’s Fit and Proper requirements;
- distinguish between Responsible Managers, Responsible Officers and Responsible Persons.
- explain the fit and proper assessment process;
- make suggestions to enhance their competence through ongoing training and development;
- explain terms such as “key person”, “fit and proper”, “senior management” and “responsible”;
- identify the relevant statutory instruments which establish the fit and proper requirements;
- critically examine their organisation’s fit and proper policy; and
- explain how to integrate the fit and proper requirements into a superannuation fund with equal representation requirements.
