Getting or Varying Your Australian Financial Services License

This course will “make clear” the muddy waters of getting or varying your licence.  You will walk away knowing what’s involved, as well as having some helpful resources and templates to get you started.

Course aims:

 To equip the participants to confidently navigate through the process of applying for or varying an AFSL.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will be able to :

  1. complete the on-line application
  2. draft proofs for submission to ASIC
  3. develop strategies to avoid the common pitfalls, traps and mistakes in the application process  
  4. identify the additional documentation which is required to "sit behind" the proofs lodged with ASIC
  5. identify who in their organisation can "get over the line" to be a Responsible Manager
  6. identify and assess the key risks in the process
  7. assess the costs involved
  8. explain and implement the steps involved in the application process

Compliance Manual

If you are an new AFSL holder (or will be soon), you are required to have a number of processes and procedures.  They meet the requirements of the relevant financial services laws, ASIC policy statements and licence conditions associated with a normal AFSL (with some exceptions).
