Online Credit Legislation Training – What do I need to do!?
This course provides an overview of what’s required of persons who currently engage in credit activities and plan to continue to do so after 1 July 2010.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course, participants will be able to:
- explain the purpose of the national consumer credit reform legislation;
- provide an overview of the key changes to consumer credit regulation brought about by the reforms;
- outline the key definitions in the legislation such as “credit provider”, “credit representative” and “credit assistance provider”;
- outline other key definitions such as “credit”, “credit service”, “credit assistance” and “intermediary”;
- describe the timing for implementation of the legislation;
- list the steps required to register with ASIC;
- describe when and what’s required to apply for an Australian Credit Licence;
- explain the law that is proposed to apply to carried over instruments; and
- list the ongoing obligations of Australian Credit Licensees.
