Sam's role at Compact involves providing services to financial services licensees. These include participating in compliance committee meetings, drafting and reviewing compliance procedures, preparing licence applications and conducting training sessions. Many of these services require a detailed knowledge of ASIC policy, as well as the financial services laws.
Sam has assisted a number of organisations with risk management, including conducting training, facilitating risk identification sessions and drafting and reviewing risk management procedures. She has a good working knowledge of the Australian Standard on risk management AS/NZS 4360:2004.
Sam graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours in both Arts and Law in 2003. She completed the final semester of her Law degree on exchange at Universite Jean Moulin Lyon III in Lyon, France, where she completed four law subjects in French.
Sam has worked at Compact since 2000.
Sam is also a solicitor with Holley Nethercote commercial lawyers, having been admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2004. Much of her work as a lawyer is in financial services law.
Sam enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, running and cycling. There has been a little less time for these since the arrival of her 2 children but, from time to time, Sam can still be seen running around Melbourne’s “Tan” with son Edward, baby Claire, husband Richie and dog Bangles. She also reads a range of books – both fiction and non-fiction.
